Flight to Shanter
A short short story.
The opening…….
“The butt and ben was his bolt hole. He needed it. ‘Come on, Meg.’ The Land Rover swayed, buffeted by the barrage of snow that snapped against its flanks. ‘No resting, Meg. Tonight is our only chance.’ He pressed his beast onward. The high pass defending the route to Shanter rose ahead.”
